10.10.10 – Humanity’s Date with Destiny
Power of One invites the world to make a “Declaration of Interdependence” on 10.10.10.
Washington D.C. September 24, 2010 – The event organizers are calling for all of humanity to join together — either physically at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall or virtually, from wherever they are around the globe, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on October 10, 2010 (10.10.10.) to declare their commitment to the survival and evolution of humanity and all life on earth.
“This is a call for a major shift in consciousness.” says Steven Lovink, one of the co-founders of Power of One, “10.10.10 is a day for humanity to acknowledge and experience the depth of our interconnection with each other and all life. We hope our ‘Declaration of Interdependence’ will become a global statement of resolve that helps to inspire and initiate humanity to unleash its unlimited creative potential and entrepreneurial drive to co-create a peaceful and globally sustainable society.”
The opening ceremony on the Mall will commence at 10:00 am, followed at 10:10am by one minute’s silence, after which singer/songwriter and D.C. native Becca Levy performs John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Each hour throughout the day will start with a connective minute of silence, and scheduled activities will include an “on-the-hour” reading of the Declaration of Interdependence:
Let this be the day when all the people on Earth become the founding family of a new world that is truly born of the people, by the people, with the planet. May we, as one whole family, give birth to a sane new world that is economically viable, ecologically flourishing, naturally sustainable, wholly fulfilling, and truly just. Let this day give birth to a new world co-created to work in harmony, aligned by love, and grounded in the profound realization of our interconnection with each other, Nature, and the Source of all Life.
From this day forward, we consciously choose to live, love, and work together as One Family on One Planet realizing One Vision: A world of peace, abundance, joy, and freedom for all.
There will also be the creation of a “We Have A Dream” video throughout the day by recording people at the Lincoln Memorial sharing their dreams of a better future. At 6 pm, participants are invited to gather around the Reflecting Pool for a “Silence and Light” ceremony. (The whole event at the Mall is free to the public.)
All are invited to participate before, during and after 10.10.10 by placing their Avatar on a world map on the Power of One website, showing each person’s location on the planet and their intention for the world. This interactive map will record the growth of the Founding Family of The New World up until 10.10.10 and beyond. (Full details and program on the website.)
