Power of One Child + One Tree Campaign to empower Copenhagen
The campaign organized by ECI in cooperation with Power of One School founding partners Planet2025 Network and Greener Ethiopia is being kicked off in Copenhagen in early December. Join the campaign to reforest and re-energize Mother Earth… one child at a time. 2.2 Billion: Power of One Child + One Tree = A Sustainable Future for All. Donate $18 now.
Programme partners include UNEP, the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF), Global Challenge Award and others. The campaign intends to co-create a more prosperous and secure future driven by today’s children by…
- planting 2.2 billion trees (one tree for each of Mother Earth’s 2.2 billion people under the age of 18)
- helping to offset net deforestation of 14 billion trees equivalent of 20–25% of global CO2 emissions (in Phase II which seeks to plant 7 trees per child)
- increasing access to safe water, clean energy, healthy food
- limit global warming to 2.2 degrees
- supporting development of Power of One School kits
- launching the Earthchild Small Grants for Kids program
Power of One School seeks to engage and empower children and young people around the world to co-create a prosperous future one community at a time. We develop and micro-finance age-appropriate, interdisciplinary school kits which set up nurseries and plant trees, while improving access to participatory learning tools, healthy environments, electricity, the Internet, water, sanitation, and jobs. We believe this is a smart way to convert CO2 into things people and our planet really need.
